Happy happy birthday! :)

Two exciting things in my life: Momma & Alex are hopping on a plane to the UK today (Tangled in tow!) &...

Yesterday was my lovely Daddy's birthday! I obviously wasn't able to be there :(, but I was in spirit! Scott was fabulous, as per usual, & helped me out with delivering Dad's presents - a little poem that I wrote him (not too impressive) & a Cars ice cream cake (way more impressive) from Baskin Robbins. A huge box of Jelly Babies is awaiting him here in Norwich for Momma to bring home after the trip. I was glad that he had a good day, but I am even more glad that I won't be missing his next special day - Father's Day :) Momma took a picture of the cake, so hopefully I will be able to add it here later! My posts have recently been bland & pictureless - it is sad.

I love you, Daddy, & hope your birthday was the best that ever was! I miss you lots & can't wait to see you in June.

Love, Rachie

so, I absolutely loved...

hearing this hymn at church today :) probably my favourite part of a church service is worship, & I always adore hearing songs that I am familiar with & can sing along to. this is one of my favourites so it was wonderful to have a chance to sing it again :)

Be Thou my vision, O Lord of my heart
Naught be all else to me, save that Thou art
Thou my best thought, by day or by night
Waking or sleeping, Thy presence my light ♥

Busy, busy, busy

I had an absolutely wonderful visit with Scottyboy, he is the bomb diggity. We really enjoyed exploring different places in England together, as well as just the opportunity to see each other for a while! It was sad when he left :( but we both knew that is was time. He had to get back to school & work, & I definitely have a lot of work to do here! As of right now my to do list consists of

1. Essay for 3B04 on Dora the Explorer
2. Essay for 3B22 on Creativity & Learning.
3. Project for 3B22 for our exhibition.
4. Dance team try out video.
5. Reading for LITD2X28
6. Reapply for EKU housing (which I am very cross about, btw)
7. Schedule classes for next semester

Ahhh, I am so stressed out. I will get it all done though. I hope. & definitely before ALEX & MOM get here in a few days! I am so excited to be seeing them a week from tomorrow, & so excited to be able to spend "Mothering Sunday" with her :) & be the flower girl in my Aunt's wedding...

So yeah. This post was a little pointless, but I thought that is was important that I update since I haven't in a million & one years...

I love you more than applesauce,

than peaches & a plum,
& chocolate hearts & cherry darts & berry bubblegum.
I love you more than marmalade,
I love you more than jam,
I like you more than 7 layered cakes,
But I love pies of any size but
I love you the most.

hockey! & an unpleasant Monday.

So, last night I went to my very first hockey game with Aunty Ruth! It was lots of fun, but also a wee bit scary. Because she has season tickets, we were right next to the ice! & she told me a scary story about some girl who got hit in the head with a hockey puck, so I was obviously paranoid the entire game... but I definitely enjoyed ice hockey way more than I expected to! I will be going to some games in Lexington when I get back :) Stanley had fun too!

Overall my weekend with Aunt Ruth was absolutely great. We got to visit Mom's old school, which was such a cool experience, and Aunt Ruth and I are pretty close any way so we had fun just talking and watching crime shows on tv. I will be glad to go back to Wales again over my next break!

Today, I had a rather early start to my day... My train back to Norwich (well, technically to Paddington Station in London, then to Norwich from Liverpool Street Station) was at 8:25 (ahh, I don't even like to be alive at 8:25). I was ever so thrilled to wake up at about 6:30 to start getting ready for the day... Before catching the train I got a nice hot apple juice with Aunt Ruth, but I hardly had any of it because I crashed the moment we boarded the train and snoozed the entire two hour journey to London.

Upon arriving in London, I had to catch the tube... A task that was made more difficult by the fact that I didn't know where to buy tickets and was on a bit of a time crunch. Finally I found the ticket machine, bought one, and hopped on the right line going the right direction (yeah, buddy!). Unfortunately, however, we made it only one stop out of the ten we had to travel to get from Paddington to Liverpool before something went wrong with the train. So we stood around, I checked my watch, and waited for about five or ten minutes before they stuck us on another train to get there (thank goodness too, I was getting worried!)

I arrived at Liverpool Street Station with just enough time to buy a Costa latte (I drank it this time!) and linzer biscuit before running down the platform to my coach & finding my seat. It was all smooth sailing from there - I worked on my Puzzler and stared out the window for the additional two hours it took to get to Norwich (which was slightly delayed, OF COURSE) before leaping off the train and running again to catch the 35 bus back to the uni.

I made it back a few minutes after two, but it was fine because my professor had told me that I could be a few minutes late after I sent her an emailing explaining my situation last week. However, this did not happen. I looked at my schedule. It said "01.16/01.21". So. I went to 01.21. I peeked in the window. There were very few people. A sign on the door said "Assessment in Progress Do Not Disturb". I left. I went to room 01.16. It was empty. For good measure, I went to every room in between. They were empty too. I went back to my room.

Ughhhhhhhhhhh. & then I emailed my professor & explained what happened. & she emailed me back after class saying... "Oh, we were in room 01.21. Sorry, didn't realize there was an assessment sign on the door."

Hate. My. Life.

But Sofia gave me a brownie so it was a good day anyway :) off to finish up a paper (hopefully) & watch Law & Order: SVU (far more likely).

Internet at last!

I am currently sitting in Cardiff, in my Aunt's sitting room, finally on the internet after having been deprived for so long... but seeing as I have homework to do, I am going to make this short. I'll post pictures of my good pal Stanley tomorrow, he's been having a blast :) Miss you guys!

before we hung up i said, "momma, don't forget";

"to tell my baby sister i'll see her in the fall
tell memaw that i miss her, yeah, i should give her a call
& make sure you tell daddy that i'm still his little girl
yeah, i still feel like i'm where i'm supposed to be
but don't forget to remember me ♥"

"& every tear that had to fall from my eyes
& everyday i wondered how i'd make it through the night
every change life has thrown me
i'm thankful for every break in my heart
i'm grateful for every start
some pages turned, some bridges burned
but there were lessons learned"

why, yes, i have been on a carrie underwood kick recently :)
