hockey! & an unpleasant Monday.

So, last night I went to my very first hockey game with Aunty Ruth! It was lots of fun, but also a wee bit scary. Because she has season tickets, we were right next to the ice! & she told me a scary story about some girl who got hit in the head with a hockey puck, so I was obviously paranoid the entire game... but I definitely enjoyed ice hockey way more than I expected to! I will be going to some games in Lexington when I get back :) Stanley had fun too!

Overall my weekend with Aunt Ruth was absolutely great. We got to visit Mom's old school, which was such a cool experience, and Aunt Ruth and I are pretty close any way so we had fun just talking and watching crime shows on tv. I will be glad to go back to Wales again over my next break!

Today, I had a rather early start to my day... My train back to Norwich (well, technically to Paddington Station in London, then to Norwich from Liverpool Street Station) was at 8:25 (ahh, I don't even like to be alive at 8:25). I was ever so thrilled to wake up at about 6:30 to start getting ready for the day... Before catching the train I got a nice hot apple juice with Aunt Ruth, but I hardly had any of it because I crashed the moment we boarded the train and snoozed the entire two hour journey to London.

Upon arriving in London, I had to catch the tube... A task that was made more difficult by the fact that I didn't know where to buy tickets and was on a bit of a time crunch. Finally I found the ticket machine, bought one, and hopped on the right line going the right direction (yeah, buddy!). Unfortunately, however, we made it only one stop out of the ten we had to travel to get from Paddington to Liverpool before something went wrong with the train. So we stood around, I checked my watch, and waited for about five or ten minutes before they stuck us on another train to get there (thank goodness too, I was getting worried!)

I arrived at Liverpool Street Station with just enough time to buy a Costa latte (I drank it this time!) and linzer biscuit before running down the platform to my coach & finding my seat. It was all smooth sailing from there - I worked on my Puzzler and stared out the window for the additional two hours it took to get to Norwich (which was slightly delayed, OF COURSE) before leaping off the train and running again to catch the 35 bus back to the uni.

I made it back a few minutes after two, but it was fine because my professor had told me that I could be a few minutes late after I sent her an emailing explaining my situation last week. However, this did not happen. I looked at my schedule. It said "01.16/01.21". So. I went to 01.21. I peeked in the window. There were very few people. A sign on the door said "Assessment in Progress Do Not Disturb". I left. I went to room 01.16. It was empty. For good measure, I went to every room in between. They were empty too. I went back to my room.

Ughhhhhhhhhhh. & then I emailed my professor & explained what happened. & she emailed me back after class saying... "Oh, we were in room 01.21. Sorry, didn't realize there was an assessment sign on the door."

Hate. My. Life.

But Sofia gave me a brownie so it was a good day anyway :) off to finish up a paper (hopefully) & watch Law & Order: SVU (far more likely).
